Dartmoor is the perfect location for a break whether your a foodie, outdoor adventurer or someone who just wants to take time out and relax. The breathtaking scenery can be enjoyed from the top of Haytor, rambling along the side of the rolling hills or driving past the young, playful ponies prancing about near the roads.

Chagford is a delightful moorland town, a hub for the area and a great place to begin your Dartmoor adventure. There are a number of walks beginning here, the Plym trail passes through, the Two Moors Way crosses here also and its close to the Two Castles Trail linking Okehampton and Launceston castles. Also close by is Castle Drogo the last castle to be built in England and the Miniature Pony Centre great places to visit to get a real feel for Dartmoor.

We were made to feel very welcome at 22 Mill Street and would like to thank everyone for making it such a pleasent stay. The food was excellent! It was so relaxing after our hectic wedding week. The room was well decorated and "spacious" as it was advertised as and had a wonderful plasma screen TV and view over the bowling green. We booked our break with meals included which made it a reasonable price for a treat . As this is a restaurant "With Rooms" there is no public bar but the staff are only too happy to provide what you need. Try their sister restaurant, Brown's at Tavistock.
